Our target audience is 5+ and this is based upon our research into angry birds, a colourful and simplistic mobile game with a great fan base, mainly consistent of kids aged 5+.

Angry Birds

angry birds has bright colours and easily adaptable to other franchises to introduce children or convince older generations to play like their ‘Angry birds: Star wars’ game with stands solely at 50,000,000 – 100,000,000 downloads on the Play store alone, amazing consider the original currently has over 100,000,000 – 500,000,000 downloads and the new “Angry birds 2” has 50,000,000 – 100,000,000 downloads as of being launched in 2016.

Our research source

Our main basis for this research is my own little brother and sister, who are avid mobile game players with games such as angry birds, temple run, Talking tom’s gold run and dude perfect’s mobile game, ranging from the ages 7-12 we have asked them a few questions about their favourite mobile games and why they like them (Watch the video below).

Marketing

Making “Viking vs Samurai” a game that can be merchandised easily will be essential for our demographic and sales of our Mobile game. T-shirts, plushies, animations and many more products (as well as in-game purchases will be how the game makes money) “We’d much rather sell and officially licensed products there, but if no one copied us that would mean that nobody cares,” (Peter Vesterbacka, 2013) copyright protection is essential but making the product recognisable and appealing, which is what we wanna achieve with the gameplay and artstyle.
