Research Into Background Art In Mobile Games

One of the Main things when looking at a mobile game is the background art in each level that you play, now from playing different mobile games like angry birds and other games like this the background is all ways made to look  closer than it should be or further away in the distance. Some games have a really high quality background and some times they have a low quality background depending on the game. From looking into background and thinking about how i want the game level backgrounds to be, I want to stick to the main theme of the game and this would be a cartoon style. With this i do not want to make it to high quality i want to make sure that it is in the middle of both.

[ High ]

this type of background would suit our game due to the way it look as fantasy and from it I can tell what I would do with the art to show the scene of the level that you are playing and what is going on and how it follows the story as you are playing through.

[ Mid ]

As well as what I spoke about above this is what i would say is a mid quality graphics and shows not to much detail within the background its self.

[ Low ]

this is the low quality graphics for a background so that you can concentrate more on the graphics of the characters etc and not to much time on the actually background of the games.I then looked into a videos on YouTube to see how other people had created their backgrounds and what ideas they looked at before making the final product and to see what research they had carried out and what different styles you are able to have other than the normal style backgrounds as grass and hills etc.

the videos show a wide range of backgrounds that I can create and go about creating for the mobile game. The only way that i am able to see if this will work well would be to create a couple of rough ideas ( Conceptart ) and add it to the test level of the game to see what one will look better. As well as this i need to also think about how this will look on a smaller screen and if i was to do a high quality version would it not look right when playing on a mobile and will it look distorted.
